MINUTES: Children’s Sailing Meeting SSBC 23rd. January 2008.

COURSE :

 

Children who are 8 years old by the end of May 2008 are eligible to take part in the courses. They must be able to swim and be water confident.

Please supply the following information:

·        Full Name of Child

·        Date Of Birth

·        Swimming Ability (Are they confident in water?)

·        Previous sailing experience (for new kids not on previous courses)

·        Type of Boat Available

·        Contact Details

o   Mobile numbers for both parents/guardians

o   E-mail address(s)

·        Would you make your boat available to others kids if needed?

·        Parent’s availability to help with course (beach parent, rescue, etc.)

 

Proposed Course:

3 groups (6 to 8 per group):

1.            Beginners aiming for level 1.

2.            Level 1 aiming for level 2.

3.            Level 2 aiming for level 3.

 

This will allow specific tuition of all levels by individual group instructors.

 

 

 

 

 

Cost €255 per child.

 

Reduction for 2nd. Child of 10% off second fee.

 

A non Refundable deposit of €125 per child will be required by 16th. February 2008.

 

 

Proposed  Course Days (To be finalised):

Full Days

·        Saturday 29th  March; 19th. April; (10a.m.-5p.m.)

Half days:

·        Saturday(2-5p.m.); 5th ;12th.26th.of April and 10th. of May.

·        Sundays (1-4p.m.) 6th.; 13th. 27th. of April and finish 11th. of May

 

Equipment Required for the course:

·        Own or access to a suitable insured boat.

 

·        A 3-5mm long legged/ sleeved wetsuit will be needed. Also a Fleece type hat ; a good fleece and Kag and proper Sailing gloves will be required.

 

·        All boats should be ship shape and checked on or before 22nd. March in preparation for the course.

 

POST COURSE ACTIVITIES:

4: Children’s Welfare Policy:

A policy will be developed to encompass various elements of our children within the club structure including, changing facilities etc.

 

5: Medals for 2007 

Those that had children attending the course last year but who didn’t collect a medal at the presentation at the Santa’s visit should contact Paul Rainey.
